All this heat for nothing?

Ulefone is a well-known brand among rugged phones, one of their most impressive devices is the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro. With the thermal camera of the device equipped with 12 GB RAM, you can see how cold it is near the windows and doors, but you can also check the climate. They also provide an endoscope with which you can look into the pipes of the apartment. By the way, the almost unbreakable mobile phone is not bad for a phone. A wide range of services comes with a thick-grip pencil: the rugged phone is OrderChineseZ77 You can take it home with the code 146 400 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The prices indicated in the article are informative and in all cases are HUF equivalents of the price displayed on the webshop's interface in USD (or in EUR, if there is no USD option) (according to the interbank exchange rate valid at the time of writing the article).for, from a Chinese warehouse, but the price includes other costs. The cost of shipping is already included in the price above.
The black and yellow box design with a wasp pattern is very attractive, and the contents will knock your hands off your hands with a mass that puts the cubes used as weapons in riots to shame.
The Ulefone Armor 27T Pro is anything but small and light, 441! grams The 182×86,8×18,5 mm cube helps to overcome the gravitational effect. In comparison, an average smartphone weighs under 200 grams and is 9-10 mm thick, which about twice as many as those mobile phones, which I had previously held in my hands. Unpacking the packaging reveals the high-quality, red Type-C cable and its 33W wall charger, 8! pcs description, since you will have to get to know a regular bunch of sensors, a tempered glass screen protector and the already mentioned endoscope. What's missing? Case, which can be ordered separately, and SIM pin, as the engineers worked on a design that can be reached under with a fingernail and is resistant to dust and liquids.

The Ulefone Armor 27T Pro looks most like what was imagined to be in Arnold Swarzenegger's hands in Terminator 2.
A truly unbreakable, IP68/69K and MIL-STD-810H A multitude of sensors embedded in a housing that also meets standards, in a very masculine design. The Hummer of phones, with reinforced corners, in a huge size. Metal-colored torx screws and silicone plugs everywhere confirm that this mobile would survive a nuclear attack, unlike you.
You could discover several interesting details by picking up the phone:
- At the bottom there is a mounting tab for straps and a silicone plug closing the Type-C port.
- On the left side special interface port – uSmart connector – for additional devices and an orange programmable button
- A a FLIR on the back – pronounced: Flör – thermal sensor, and a night vision IR sensor next to the camera
- On top there is an infrared sensor and a silicone plug that closes the jacket.
Knowing the above, it's worth putting the price into context: A thermal imaging camera is a rather expensive thing. I looked at the alternatives, roughly 100 HUF for a mobile accessory that plugs into the Type-C port. On Banggood, but the popular Topdon camera in Hungary, which is also used by car enthusiasts, costs a similar amount. Obviously, the uSmart preparation is not free either, and we know the price of the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro endoscope specifically, because the larger package costs about 18 HUF more than the regular one.
Considering this, this device is not that expensive, especially if you buy it for work.
I've seen an air conditioner operator using a CAT phone to check a device, so these sensors have a practical use in some professions.
Returning to the contents of the box, the more experienced could have guessed from the charger's power that the fast charging has a power of 33 W,
but there's also 30-watt wireless charging, which really makes sense here: no need to remove the silicone plugs, and dirty your phone, so you can protect your expensive technology. More powerful wireless charging is also justified because 10 mAh battery capacity, which is comparable to an average power bank, and it still works, because it has reverse charging tooIn addition, the battery can withstand extreme temperature differences of -30 to +55 degrees Celsius, but unfortunately I didn't have the opportunity to go to Iceland for a good test.
I easily got 4-5 days of battery life with it,
in return, it takes 3 hours to charge it wired and 3,5 hours wirelessly, at least in theory. In practice, I didn't have such a charging pad, because the 30 W power is considered quite powerful. I looked up how much it costs, a noname is 8000, and one that also saw a designer and a designer is more like 12 HUF.

When it comes to sensors and wireless connections, the guys didn't skimp, they put in almost everything they could.
The good news is that the Dimensity 6300 SoC is supported by 5Galso, but there is WiFi 5 and BT 5.2 also. On the right front there is fingerprint reader, the SIM tray is dual nano, you can insert a micro SD card for storage expansion purposes - in addition to the two nano SIMs and not instead of them -, the infrared port, GPS and jack are missing, but there is only one speaker. Electronic payment? Check, because there is NFC is. THE programmable button and a typical rugged phone feature, you can put all kinds of clever things on it.

I will talk more about the camera section. Night Vision about the way, and the FLIR about thermal imaging cameras,
and it is also worth mentioning the uSmart port, which is a special interface port for endoscopes and microscopes. Ulefone also sells these, the 27T Pro comes with the uSmart E02, but there are 3 other devices in the manufacturer's website According to.
I would like to highlight two things about the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro rugged phone: if you read the "Best cheap smartphones in 2025", you could see that even in the lower mid-range there are Dimensity 7200-7300 SoCs, which are more powerful than the 6300, so you don't have to expect any big fireworks, but at least a modern, energy-efficient core has been added to the mobile. This is complemented by 12 GB of physical memory, expandable with an additional 12 GB of virtual memory, but this is really just a dusting of dust, a technology that has been known in the PC world for decades, and it won't give you much extra speed.
Let the Benchmarks speak for me:
- Antutu V10 points; 461 points;
- GFX Bench, T-Rex on-screen/off-screen test: 53/58 FPS;
- Antutu storage tester, write/read (sequential): 536/521 MB/s;
- Geekbench single/multi-core: 792/2106 points;
- PCMark Job 3.0: 10 points;

From the above it can be seen that this level is roughly BlackView Shark 8 level, which is a phone around 60 HUF, but with a more modern architecture. Obviously, There's no point in playing with a strap phone., of course, you can play minigolf with a hoe, but it doesn't give the same experience as a more suitable tool. Users are very lucky that most programs scale to the hardware, so even a Dimensity 6300 can actually provide space for minimal gaming.
As for the display, the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro boasts a 6,78-inch IPS LCD panel,
which almost seems small in such a large house. Its resolution 1080×2460 pixels, refreshes at 120 Hz and is protected by Gorilla Glass Victus surface treatment, which is significantly more resistant than traditional Gorilla Glass. However, more important is the brightness of the panel, which 680 nits, since rugged phones are primarily designed for outdoor use. I'm not saying that this is very little, but we've seen solutions with much higher brightness than this, so this I took it as a point of failure., based on who will use such a phone. As for color reproduction, the display image is pleasing, the colors are vibrant, but it does not rise to AMOLED heights, but it is not bad.

The Ulefone Armor 27T Pro is built on Android 14 main version,
which is considered relatively modern, but by October 2024, the 15th will be out, and Android 16 is already on our heels. There is no word on how it will be updated, although an update was received during the test, but that doesn't mean much. The successor model, the Armor 28 Ultra is now getting the 15th, but even so, you should have no reason to be dissatisfied. Like all hard workers, here too:
- parameterizable sphere, for which you can program functions
- engineering softwarethat help with work (called Outdoor Toolbox)
- FM radio with built-in antenna, so that "good workers", engineers and hikers don't get bored either
The software functions are grouped together in an interface called Service Center, from where you can configure all sorts of things from the above. You can tell that it's not completely stock Android by the fact that where Ulefone messed around, the menu isn't in Hungarian.
However, the 27T Pro is weak when it comes to watching videos, as it lacks Widevine L1, so streaming content remains in SD resolution.

Let's get to the special sensors and the camera set. The matter has to be divided into two parts, because on the one hand there is a set of cameras, which consists of the following:
- 50 MP main camera (Samsung ISOCELL S5KGN1 sensor, with EIS)
- 64 MP night vision camera (Omnivision OV64B1B sensor)
- 32 MP selfie camera (Samsung GD1)
The main sensor is Vivo X50/X60 Pro camera also, which is a low-end 5G phone, so you can't expect too much from it, it falls far short of what is desirable at this price point. But, Rugged phones have never been known for taking great photos or videos., and that's not the case here either.
Blurred content, contourless objects that are poorly separated from the background, and the image seems to be blurred at the edges.
Also Loss of focus is an annoying phenomenon, I've run into this problem more than once. It couldn't focus on objects even a few meters away, so taking pictures was a real pain. There's no macro or ultra-wide, this isn't a camera. The results are even worse at night, sometimes the images were so grainy that it looked like I had applied an 8-bit effect directly to them.
As for the night vision camera – with NightElf Ultra 3.0 Algorithm, bruhaha –,
I think it's funny to take monochrome pictures,
and since one of the main problems with night shots is that the image is terribly grainy, as I wrote above, I'd rather It's still a much better solution than what the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro brings to the table. It's only up to a few meters, though. because that's all the infrared sensors can do. It's interesting what the press release mentions as uses: night security camera, wildlife observation, field rescue, hidden camera, and nighttime imaging. Except for the last one, all of them are a big exaggeration, no one will use them for this, because there are much better solutions for this, perhaps even observing wild animals.

Here comes the main attraction of the Ulefone Armor 27T Pro, the FLIR thermal camera. I quickly “calibrated” one on boiling water and roughly accurate, but for liquids it is easier to measure the ceramic hob, which is set to 180 degrees Celsius, than the javelin. I had several ideas for further application, for which I do not need to be an expert and someone else can repeat it at home. These were the following:
- doors and windows heat loss testing
- heated foods, drinks to check the temperature
- seat heating in a car, to check engine heating
- electrical appliances measuring the heating (e.g. notebook)

Of course, if you are a professional, you can use it to look at anything you want, from switchboards to air conditioners. It is great fun to use, and it is a very interesting sight to see how surfaces with different temperatures are drawn out. However, it is worth knowing that, for example, a target device, a Topdon TC001 resolution is 216×192 pixels at 25 Hz, while the FLIR Lepton only has 80×60 pixels, at 9 Hz. This is a bit small, the image is choppy, but for example the CAT S60 – which is a Methuselah – also has the same sensor, while the S62 Proban from FLIR can only capture 160×120 pixels. Unfortunately, CAT owner Bullit Group went bankrupt in 2024, so Chinese phones like the Doogee Fire 6 and the Doogee V31GT – with a 160×120 and 256×192 pixel thermal sensor – and the Blackview BV8900, which knows what the test subject is. The successor model, the much more expensive Ulefone Armor 28 Ultra but brutal Capable of 640×512 pixel resolution, which really does produce convincing thermal images, albeit for an astronomical price, once it finally appears.
But the point is: you can place measurement points where the camera plots the measured temperature values, you can draw color palettes on the image, you can average area temperatures, and so on.
As for the video capabilities, it's enough to know that the maximum resolution is 2K 30 FPS, without optical stabilization.
In other words, the whole thing is pure shaking, with an over-filtered digital feel, and at night the resulting material is a big black nothing. Obviously, shooting video with a night camera comes in handy at this time, but the limit of the infrared sensors is also problematic here.

You can "video" not only with this, but also with the additional uSmart E02 endoscope.
The main point of this is that if you want to look behind a wall or hunt for blockages, you can do so with the device that can reach up to 2 meters. For this, there are 2 1 MP cameras available, front and side, with 720p and 640×480 pixel resolutions. It is also worth knowing the focal length - since it is fixed -, which is 4 and 10 cm, because if you move in larger spaces, the image will be blurry, so it is worth getting close to the area to be examined. The accessory is resistant to impacts according to the IP67 standard, so divers are at a disadvantage, everyone else is at an advantage.
To use it, you need to download the uSmart Camera app, which unfortunately is not available in the Google store.
The image is in the category of going away, better than the cheap "allies" stuff, it can actually be used with the auxiliary light, but you don't have to wait long. Perfect for troubleshooting, For example, I found out that the toilet siphon is pure radish, it almost wants a little Mr. Muscle, to which the scum will give in screaming, thank you E02 endoscope. However, what hinders its use is that the head is quite stiff, This means you have to force it through winding pipes, plus if the camera runs into water, the lens starts to shine. It's not a professional solution, but it's workable.
Summary
The Ulefone Armor 27T Pro is a layered product and I suspect that this handful of people have so many alternatives to choose from that if they spend on a device that looks good, they will throw in another ten thousand and buy a model with a bigger camera and a more powerful SoC. This is the main weakness of the 27T Pro, although the large amount of memory will be enough for many years, but it is a work phone, even if the night vision mode and the thermal sensor are tip-top.
I don't want to argue that it's uncomfortable for daily use, because it is, and it's otherwise decently put together, but that crappy brightness should have been raised to the skies. It's perfect for miners and basement workers, but it could be better in blinding sunlight. The ruggedness is OrderChineseZ77 you can take it home with a code 146 400 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). What is a Flir thermal camera?
The FLIR Lepton thermal camera allows you to visually display temperature differences. This feature is especially useful in industrial applications, building diagnostics, electrical equipment inspection and other areas where monitoring temperature changes is essential. The device includes The thermal camera sensor has a resolution of 80×60 pixels and a refresh rate of 9 Hz.This allows the detection of temperatures between -10°C and 450°C. The thermal camera is integrated into the With MyFLIR Pro app, which allows the display and recording of real-time thermal images and the use of various palettes and measurement tools.
