We also tested the second model of Xiaomi's most popular phone series, the Redmi Note 11, the St. 6 GB of RAM, 64 GB of storage, all the ports and inputs in the world, a high-brightness AMOLED display and a few other goodies are part of the palette, but I wouldn't shoot all gunpowder in the introduction. I will tell you the price because they ask for HUF 75 for the version equipped with NFC, on top of that there is HUF 000 shipping, but in return it comes with a 1800 W wireless charging pad, which I think is a good deal.

Be the first

I'm not saying that the look managed to sway my emotional strings,

the faces are quite uncharacteristic, but that's somehow always the case coupled with robustness and a sense of indestructibility, since the assembly and that general sense of quality is excellent. As for the sizes, my partner immediately took the phone out of my hand because it looks so small and light. He also weighed it on the kitchen scale, putting it next to it My X3 NFC, to demonstrate how much more difficult it is. Then when including the case, the scale showed 199 grams, and 3 for the X250, then we were very happy, but if we added the older, 5-inch Redmi 4X, the measured value immediately dropped to 166. Nothing new under the sun, all of them 6,43 inch screen approx. It is around 200 grams, but even without a case, their weight is 180, despite what it seems at first 8 mm thin phone for little ones.

I also like that Xiaomi fills its devices with a million ports and sensors like a telephone Swiss Army knife,

there is practically nothing that I can mention on the deficit side. It handles 4 of the satellite systems - GPS, GLONASS, BDS, GALILEO -, it has infrared and jack port, FM radio, dual WiFi, stereo speaker, pedometer and NFC. The only thing missing is the notification LED, but since the display is AMOLED, that's why can animate at the edges, when a message is received, and it is also capable of AOD function, so you can unload all kinds of things on the front even in closed mode.

There are two more interesting things hiding on the edges of the phone, on the one hand, it is here fingerprint reader, which is particularly convenient and fast, the other is that the three-element SIM tray – 2 nano SIMs and a micro SD location - also serves those who have a company and a private phone number. As for the front, you can notice the usual DotDisplay type design, the display is capable of up to 1000 nits - 700 according to some measurements, 90 Hz, 1080×2400 pixel resolution, AMOLED panel. Specifically, it melts the eyes at night, blinding the picture is very nice, it is good to touch because of the excellent touch sensitivity, my only complaint is that viewed from the side in front of a white background the picture is a little inked. I would never have noticed if I didn't open a completely blank Google page, so it doesn't affect the usage.

It is also worth looking at which components differ from the plain Redmi Note 11: the manufacturer replaced the Snapdragon 680 with Helio G96, and the main camera He gained weight from 50 MP to 108. Apart from that, it is completely the same as its smaller brother, so the display, external dimensions, battery, charging solution, appearance, data communication, connectors, accessories in the box, the ultra-wide and macro camera and the video resolution are also the same . That is, whoever read the Redmi Note 11 your test, you won't find any exciting news here either.

Redmi Note 11S - The hardware has been messed with

As I mentioned, the SoC has changed, the reason being that the Snapdragon 680 can't handle cameras larger than 64 MP, so they were forced to MTK for Helio G96 switch, the GPU was also changed, to a Mali-G57. Overall, this will mean more performance and gaming potential for those who need such a thing for a phone positioned at the bottom of the middle category.

However, there is another important difference, the Redmi Note 11S came with 6 GB of RAM,

while the previously tested "plain" Note 11 only scored 4, which made the numbers spin in the benchmarks. The GPU It squeezed out 50 and 61 FPS from two versions of the T-Rex test – the same for smooth 41 and 47 FPS – while AnTuTu 301 points instead of the previous 229. This 23% extra performance, which surprised me, as I did not expect such a big difference. Just as I was surprised by the speed of the hard drive, here it was 499 and 428 Mbps in the read and write test, the predecessor was much faster with values of 880 and 507 Mbps. This there will be some measurement anomaly, since the backup repositories are the same and I got different results as many times as I tried with benchmarks. The bottom line is that it feels fast, I didn't encounter many hiccups, but that's thanks to the excellent touch sensitivity and MIUI 11 based on stable Android 13.0.6.

This can be said for all kinds of other tasks as well, it even handled games quite well, but here the rescaling plays a significant role. The skin over the operating system provides the usual pleasant surface, everything is adjustable, I really like it, but less so the Xiaomi he can't tear himself away from pre-installing what he thinks is useful - I think less - apps. I particularly like solutions such as nightly updates or breaking news that appear on the left, and the already mentioned AOD, which can be felt very quickly. The system did not feel slow anywhere, a And with 6 GB of RAM, I think it will stay that way for quite a few years.

In terms of battery life, it is roughly the same as the Redmi Note 11,

which is not surprising, since the battery is also same 5000mAh pack. Interesting that it is MTK Helium G96 in principle, it is 12, while the Snapdragon 680 has a bandwidth of 6 nm, which means that the Note 11S consumes more. But I didn't notice this. Since the display is the same, I'm guessing it's the biggest consumer, so the differences on the SoC side are marginal. If you don't use muscle to drive it at maximum brightness, then roughly You get 20-22 hours of screen time, translating this into practice You can last 2-3 days on one charge, which is a fair value.

The other mess happened on the camera front, the 50 MP unit has been replaced by a 108 Samsung sensor, which it shares with the Redmi Note 11 Pro/11 Pro 5G. Thus, the output is as follows:

  • 108 MP main sensor
  • 8 MP ultra-wide unit with 118-degree viewing angle (same as Redmi Note 11)
  • 2MP macro camera (same as Redmi Note 11)
  • 2 MP sensor responsible for depth of field
  • 16 MP selfie camera

The software interface is completely identical to that experienced in the case of the Redmi Note 11,

it is not worth wasting too many characters on this, for the macro camera because these tiny resolution cameras make no sense - on the other hand, you can shoot interesting pictures with 5 MP - and the one responsible for depth of field cannot be used separately. THE The color of the 8 MP ultra-wide is bluish, not very nice, it's quite noisy at the edges, and the dynamic range is also narrow, so it will continue think of it as a 0,6x negative zoom. The selfie camera is pretty good, though. the 16 Megapixel resolution is felt in the pictures, but tends to burn out the background. It's better than it was, but obviously this is not the important thing, but obviously the main sensor.

By default, the 108 megapixel resolution is only used by the phone in Pro and 180 MP modes,

in this case the aspect ratio is reduced to 1:1. By default, it takes 12 MP images, that is, it combines 9 pixels, on the other hand It can also work in 1:1, 3:2, 16:9 and full-screen aspect ratios. It is clear that compared to the 50 MP that the Redmi Note 11 can show, the overall effect is much more detailed, but the algorithm digs into the images, which is why you can see some blurring of the lines, the images are a bit spotty in places and are overexposed. All in all, this is not bad, but I would like to know whether the software side does something different in relation to the Pro and Pro 5G, i.e. whether they directly worsened the images of the Note 11S or not. The night pictures are no better than the going away category, but none of the mid-range phones used to shine in this segment. The 108 MP images On this link you can watch it.

As for the videos, there is already 1080p with electronic stabilization,

while the plain Note 11 did not have it. I think this is the minimum to produce valuable materials at all, even though the state did not fall. There are microlags in the picture, as the hardware tries to compensate for the vibrations, so the videos are not completely continuous. Still no 4K the colors are tolerable, but it could be better, especially since I made the materials in bright sunlight in excellent lighting conditions.

Summary

I'll start with the price, as this is what really determines whether this phone is a good buy or not. 75 000 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The prices indicated in the article are informative and in all cases are HUF equivalents of the price displayed on the webshop's interface in USD (or in EUR, if there is no USD option) (according to the interbank exchange rate valid at the time of writing the article).-ot they are asking for it as part of a flash sale, and if I wanted to be a demagogue, I would say that the introductory discount price the Redmi Note 11 was HUF 57. But here the emphasis is on the word ex, currently the 4/128 version costs HUF 64, so it's about a tenth cheaper than the Redmi Note 11S. But, for that difference I get + 2GB of RAM - it's true, the backup storage is only half, but the micro SD card is the solution -, a better main camera, stabilized videos, and roughly 23% more performance on the hardware side. And this is worth the premium, the two phones are identical in everything else.

If I wanted to tease - and obviously that's my job as a tester - I'd say yes the camera section still does not reach the level that e.g. at that time the Poco X3 NFC, only meanwhile the dollar is approx. It went up 30% and this phone can't do 30% less. so of the 11 phones in the Redmi Note 4 series, this seems to be the ideal, possibly Pro 5G, because the latter still supports a new mobile standard. But for those who don't need fancy functions, they want one look no further for a mobile with a great display, a relatively powerful hardware, a lot of RAM, and a mediocre camera set. Shipping is HUF 1800, but the phone comes with a 15 W wireless charging pad, and Banggod handles the VAT on its products.

Pro

  • A fast, nimble system
  • AMOLED display with high brightness
  • More powerful hardware than in Redmi Note 11
  • All sensors and ports in the world (except notification LED)
  • It can also be ordered with 6 GB of RAM
  • 33 W fast charging

Kontra

  • No 5G
  • The photography section could be better
