Poco X6 Pro 5G smartphone test
Amazingly cheap power plant

The Poco X6 Pro 5G is an upper-midrange device of Xiaomi's sub-brand for the Indian market. 12 GB of RAM, 512 GB of storage, MTK Dimensity 8300-Ultra SoC brings the system together, the display is a 120 Hz panel, there is 67 W fast charging, 5G and WiFi 6 support, and even the camera is optically and also stabilizes electronically. And the price is subsidized, because the ORDER KINAIT05 with code 104 300 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The prices indicated in the article are informative and in all cases are HUF equivalents of the price displayed on the webshop's interface in USD (or in EUR, if there is no USD option) (according to the interbank exchange rate valid at the time of writing the article).you can take the device home from Gshopper for free, with free delivery. Everything is fine and dandy on paper, but what does reality show?
The charger came in handy for me, because I only had one device with this performance at home, which was always overpowered by other devices, but for others it might just be another unnecessary USB charger, so I can understand Samsung's logic of omitting the charger.
I think the look of the Poco X6 Pro 5G will be very divisive,
I like it, despite the fact that it looks relatively bazaar, with that yellow, super-sticky "leatherette" insert and the camera island filled with gradient stripes, but at least the device looks somehow, and not like the previous 10 flat mobiles. It's colorful and youthful, and if you don't like it, you can cover it completely with the dark gray silicone case, so only the high-quality black frame and the camera island will be visible. Whoever gets in, puts on a transparent one and the phone will light up yellow, "yip-y-yy", a real win-win situation. By the way, there are other niceties on the device, such as the metallic yellow colored metal button on the side, but the hidden, not incidentally very accurate fingerprint reader built into the screen is also cool. Finally there is normal protection according to the IP standard, in this case this IP67, i.e. almost waterproof.
Holding the Poco X6 Pro 5G in hand, the first thing that stood out was what it was like the build quality is great.
The buttons are in their place like the pegs, I usually see this on much more expensive devices. The frame doesn't twist, it doesn't crack, I can't really connect it to anything. On the other hand, I discovered a lot of xiaomi trademarks along its sides, which is already a good indication of the extra functions, of which there are some. Infra, WiFi 6, 5G support, NFC, dual nano SIM, satellite navigation - GPS, GLONASS, BeiDou, Galileo -, stereo speaker, heart rate monitor!, accelerometer, gyroscope and compass, pedometer, proximity sensor, so everything except the altimeter. Specifically, it's tiring to even read how much stuff was packed into the phone.

I would highlight a few things from the list, one of which is the dual nano SIM,
that is, you can have two numbers, which Apple users can shed a tear about, the other is the heart rate monitor, which is quite a rare bird in this segment. However, it is also true that no jack input - I've been using BT headphones for years, but I'm sure there are those who will miss them - and the micro SD card does not fit in the nano SIM slot, but perhaps that is not necessary 512 GB storage in addition, especially since it is also possible to save images to the cloud, which is now offered by countless service providers. I can say only one interesting thing that I have not come across in Xiaomi devices so far: this avvirtual proximity sensor. This means that the phone ""figures out"" whether you have just raised the device to your ears and turns off the display. It worked well for me, but I read complaints about it, which I cannot confirm.
Behind the Type-C port located at the bottom, a rather bullish charging electronics hides.
with 67 W the phone, the Poco X6 Pro 5G, can be fed 45 minutes absorbs the amount of electrons required for 100%. As for operating hours, 5000 mAh, this is roughly the standard Xiaomi plant. For me, if I played sports with it or the VPN was running, the cocoa was enough for 1-1,5 days, and barely 2 days if not, but really, with this level of fast charging, you don't need more. However, there is some manufacturer-specific fun with the hardware, because if the Baseus Gan 2 Promat I used it, it was more like 1:XNUMX.
There is also an interesting phenomenon about the Poco X6 Pro 5G, which is the Battery drain - in more detail in this Reddit thread - that is, the problem of rapid diving. The reason for this is that the phone keeps apps in memory for too long instead of firing them. I also experienced the phenomenon until I set it normally in the battery menu to see what it should do, then the phenomenon disappeared, so I recommend this to everyone.
Let's say the score is properly pressed by the 12 GB RAM and that extremely fast backup storage, but as they say in motoring circles: here, everything "goes wild", the system speed is excellent. To make it easier to read the essence of the many characters, the Poco X6 Pro 5G produced the following results in the tests:
- Antutu V10: 1 points
- GFX Bench, T-Rex on-screen/off-screen test: 60/447 FPS (the tester crashed at the first one)
- Antutu storage tester, write/read: 182 points; 759/4150Mbps
- PcMark Work 3.0: 12 points
It's lucky that I've been running the same tests for years, so I was able to compare them with previous products. Poco X3 NFC: 282K, Poco X4 Pro: 394K, in comparison, 1300K Antutu is just too much, plus the older major versions were even easier to score than they are today. There is no question that everything runs very well on it, you can also play, all kinds of big names performed well. It's practically a gamer phone without the software stuff for gamers.
I would venture that this performance is top class, but the price of the mobile is not what shocks me,
but later you will see that there is a fast for this.

The other very strong hardware element in the Poco X6 Pro 5G is the display.
This is it AMOLED panel very good It refreshes at 120 Hz - which affects the operating time - its brightness is something cruel, supposedly He knows 1800 nits, of course it adjusts back to warming, but it simply laughs at the sunlight. The colors are very nice, and the resolution of 1220×2712 pixels is enough for everything, and on the side of technological goodies there is the 12-bit HDR10+ Dolby Vision. To the delight of streaming consumers, the Widevine certificate L1, that is, only your subscriptions can limit the resolution, not the phone. But you still need this in the upper-middle category, this is a relatively uncompromising phone.
On the software side, there have been quite big changes, as the Poco X6 Pro 5G has already received Hyper OS based on Android 14 - renamed MIUI.
in connection with which the manufacturer promises that System version for 3 years and error correction packages for 4 years also gets the phone. After switching on, the updates came immediately, at the time of the test version 1.0.9.0 was running on the device. In fact Hyper OS is more than a rebranded MIUI, the design is different, it has extra functions, and it even feels faster than its predecessor, although it was difficult for me to determine this with such bullish hardware. The system handles HDR photos, it got all kinds of transition animations, the layout of the main screen is different, and I couldn't change the menu that can be pulled down from the top to the old one either, which is a shame. The display can be parameterized better than before, there are more animations on the edge to display messages, there is AOD, a pull-down notification panel, the interaction is modern.

The Poco X1 Pro 6G also treated my 5MORE earphones perfectly, boosting their charge and the connection window, and there was no problem with that either. Anyone who would like to share apps and screenshots with companion devices logged in to the Xiaomi account can also do this, beep other mobiles and tablets to search and so on, although I could not test this in depth due to a lack of devices.
Xiaomi also seems to be moving all its devices towards a more integrated ecosystem. There are also new widgets, you can start shooting even when the screen is locked, but you can also switch between dynamic backgrounds. But what I hated were the pre-installed apps, which are still unnecessary and I don't know why these should be forced on users. Advertising is not uncommon in Xiaomi applications, it's a shame that instead of these, you can download another, similar knowledge path from the Play store.
Come to one of the sacred cows of the upper-middle category, the camera section. According to research, people are generally willing to pay a lot for 2 things: long battery life/fast charging and good photography capabilities. You can use the following hardware:
- 64 MP main camera
- 8 MP ultra-wide camera
- 2 MP macro camera
- 16 MP selfie camera

Let's start with the simple one: the macro camera bin,
2 megapixels is not good for anything, but it performs well compared to the low resolution. The selfie camera takes average quality pictures, the end result could be sharper, but it still goes, but nothing extra. The main camera and the ultra-wide one make much more sense, the latter comes in handy functionally, since you don't have to step away from the objects, but just click through to 0,6 "zoom" and that's it. The 64 MP sensor of the main camera works by combining 16 pieces of 4 megapixels, this is called for pixel binning. That is, when you click the picture, 16 MP pictures are actually taken, unless you make a special pilgrimage to the corresponding menu and press the button called "64 MP". In such cases, however, the aspect ratio is fixed, and it is much better to shoot 1:1 or full-screen photos instead of 16:9.
The camera software itself is very fast, everything can be adjusted with ease, it brings the technical standards expected in 2024.
The main camera of the Poco X6 Pro 5G promising, at least compared to its price level. I don't really like this term as it can gloss over mistakes, so I wanted to look at the DxOMark results, but unfortunately they haven't scored the X6 Pro 5G yet. As long as there is light, it takes nice pictures, the dynamic range is good, but it turns blue, which I first noticed on the clouds. My experience is that the image is inked in shady places, and in sunny places it burns out and becomes orange, you can test this by photographing against the light reflected from the side of a white house. The end result is razor sharp, let's say this is not so surprising in addition to the optical - OIS - image stabilization. In the dark, the fun is not so great anymore, we lose some detail, ants appear, the overall effect is washed out, but overall I don't think this is the weak point of the phone, the end result is decent.
You can record videos with the selfie camera in 1080p at 60 FPS, while with the main camera you can record 4K at 30 FPS, in both cases the hardware is stabilized.
The dynamic range is excellent, the colors are good, and the contours are sharp. The sound is also fine, but there is some wind noise, and the phone is trying to pick it up, so the noise filtering is sometimes too much of the entire sound range. In principle, these shots are also smoothed out by optical stabilization, but this is a relatively limited thing: the picture is shocking, it seems that the hardware is straining. It's interesting because the X3 NFC worked pretty well, so it's strange that the Poco X3 Pro 6G, 5 generations later, doesn't do it better. The quality deteriorates somewhat at night, in this case it is worth reducing the number of frames due to less light. I wasn't disappointed by the pixelated end result, in fact, under certain lighting conditions, the materials deteriorate to the point of being unusable, but overall, if not outstanding, you get acceptable results. I put 4K 30 FPS in the test, 1080p 60 FPS I will reach you here.
Finally, a side story: I looked through the Poco X6 Pro reviews section on various forums, Facebook, Reddit, and I also came across some Poco X6 tests, and everyone was so excited about what a great value for money the device is. When even private people praise something like this, there's a good chance the manufacturer really did hit the market's taste.
Summary
– Would you describe yourself in one word, dear Poco X6 Pro 5G?
"Yes, balanced.
This is completely appropriate for the device, I think this is the sweet spot of the market, the price/value champion phone. Taking out my teasing self, no micro SIMexpandability, jack port, a I can click a little on parts of videos, and the fact that the quality of the cameras does not rise to the level of the Google Pixel, but those who need it will buy Alphabet's product anyway. I also read in forums that there were people whose phone quickly went down and that the virtual proximity sensor was malfunctioning. I have experienced the former, but this can be resolved with the correct setting, and I have not experienced the latter.
The hardware is rough for that price, the display is excellent, the speakers sound good, apart from the jack, it has a million ports and sensors, supports NFC, WiFi 6 and 5G, that is, even technologically advanced. Uptime is pretty good. it uploads quickly, I like the look of it too, although it will surely be divisive. Overall a great phone, it's hard for me to get hold of anything to pull it down.
I don't understand the price specifically, as it is very cheap. THE ORDER KINAIT05 code 104 300 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). For me, this is the best buy right now, but we'll see what the bigger brother, the Poco F6 Pro, flashes.
