CIGA Design Series X Gorilla mechanical watch test
Come out, you cig, your mechanic is here.

It's been a long time since we've tested a wristwatch, and I don't think we've ever tested a mechanical watch, or if so, it was on the old Rendeljkinait site, so I finally had the opportunity to expand my repertoire. The CIGA Design X Gorilla is a skeleton - the casing does not cover the mechanics - type watch, whose energy supply is provided by a pendulum. It has a distinctly wild look, it phosphoresces in an X shape at night, so the interaction is really cool. But what is it like as a watch? Does it have prestige? Is its price realistic? Not only you asked these questions, but we did too, let's see what the answer is!
The complete confusion continues with the packaging, because the box would look great if TMK Jóska hadn't thought it was a good idea to laminate the whole thing with a transparent film after eating two breakfast croissants in the packaging shop. This can be removed to free the Gorilla in a similar way to taking apart a puzzle: difficult and never-ending.

That's why you can see all sorts of shiny oddities in the picture, in what would otherwise be a very high quality on a box made of layers of cardboard, which completes the confusion. I used to own a Tissot PRC 200 a watch that is not mechanical, but it is not the same level as the – otherwise high-quality – Curren watches available on Aliexpress, but a sophisticatedly designed, leather-strapped ticker. Tissot provides the way to present it: a box that opens with resistance, a watch cushion, small booklets to explain the “heritage”, so you have a stunning decoration. The CIGA Design Series X Gorilla mechanical watch cannot do this, but Comes with two straps for the watch body, a breathable nylon fabric and a silicone one.
By the time I got to this point, I thought CIGA Design's Series X Gorilla mechanical watch - I hope you feel how bad it was to write this half-sentence so many times - would be a smile-making product like the Zeblaze blood pressure-monitoring watches and the like that had previously made the stars fall, BUT I was HUGELY wrong.. In vain, preconceptions and poor presentation can fool even a black belt tester for a while (sorry!), because CIGA has put together a great ticker.

If you just look at the watch and completely ignore the marketing hype – which, let's admit, is not easy – you could be holding a very premium product in your hands.
It looks much better in person. The CIGA Design Series X Gorilla, as shown in the pictures, has a massive watch body made of excellent materials, which you have to snap onto. standard, 22 mm quick release strap. This also means that you can change it to whatever you want, but it would be best to go for black, since the stainless steel – or titanium alloy in some models – surface is already painted black. This is broken up in places by the bronze surface, which I must say looks very good. The watch body seemed quite large at first, 44*46 mm and 90 grams, but then I stumbled upon it on our partner site, Reflekten, tested it Amazfit Balanceand they are about the same. “Oops-C,” as a former classmate of mine said, not only have phones grown, but also smart and non-smart watches.
CIGA Design's watch has practically no bezel - that is, no function ring - and the frame is replaced by the elements of the watch case.
This is covered by the sapphire glass casing, which the manufacturer claims has a hardness of 10 on the Mohs scale of 9.
Unfortunately, I couldn't find my "diamond ring used for hardness tests", but in theory, with a hardness of 9, you can scratch glass, and it will spark with steel, so this is the hard category. So if I were to hit it with a hammer, I bet the glass would break, but If you accidentally hit the door jamb, the wood will pull the shorter one. The watch body 3 ATMIt's waterproof up to 100 degrees, you can even shower in it as long as it doesn't have a leather strap.

As for its appearance, the interaction is brutal.
Except for the unreasonable gorilla on his side, looks very good, gives a quality impression, but obviously he likes distance, it's better to keep it away from expert hands. I'm Richard Mille reminds me of hours, who wouldn't have this, here you can check the prices. The comma between the numbers doesn't represent the decimal point, but the zeros, so I would understand if that's where the idea came from. Everyone I showed it to liked the way the gears moved in the clock the most., and “How nice that you can see inside!” Well, yes, that’s why they call these “skeleton” watches.
“Hello, sir, how many jewels does your watch have?” and similar questions you may get from the art-savvy public, and it doesn’t matter who, where and when manufactured the watch movement, what kind of gears and springs it has, what kind of precious stones the bearings are made of, and so on. One thing is for sure, it’s not Swiss, but in-house, as its code name is “CIGA CD-01”, so don’t look for the ETA name like most Swiss tickers inside. Better, worse, more accurate? I have no idea, I couldn’t find any information on this, but
Once it stops, the question arises as to who will fix it and where will they get parts for it.
I suspect the answer is: no one and nowhere.

The CIGA Design Series X Gorilla derives its power from kinetic energy, which is provided by the rotation of the wrist case.
To do this, they install a semicircular pendulum – also known as rotor -, which swings like a counterweight. The freely moving piece of metal winds up a spring that stores the kinetic energy needed to measure time. This is a completely automatic process – that is why such devices are called for automatic watches -, so the watch can only run down when it is not moving, as there is nothing to tension the spring. More expensive timepieces are usually put on a clockwork mechanism at night, which imitates the movement of your hand and "keeps" the watch "alive".
Setting up the CIGA Design Series X Gorilla is very simple: pull out the crown, adjust the hands to the correct position, and then push the mechanism back in.
In theory, it can operate for up to 40 hours,
So you have to swing the mechanism a little more than every day and a half and this is pretty much the real reserve of the mechanism. Of course, there is no way to know how long you need to swing it or how tight the spring is, so I wish everyone good experimentation.

What bothered me was that
There is no scale under the glass, so it is difficult to read the exact time with a single glance.
I didn't check the exact time, sometimes the clock, but it can be compared to the irons in the structure and after a while you get used to what should be considered a reference point. It is wrong by 15-30 seconds a day, which, starting from the fact that sometimes How badly I read the time due to my own lameness, it doesn't seem like much.

Finally, a real eye candy feature that I loved about the CIGA Design Series X Gorilla:
The frame and the ends of the hands phosphoresce in the dark, forming an X.
Damn, it looks good. and not too intrusive, he bought me, but it also shows that celebrities won't be the ones getting him into Carnegie Hall.
Summary
The CIGA Design Series X Gorilla mechanical watch strange creature. Their marketing is terrible., as well as the packaging, and the product is not really able to convince itself that it has a serious history and prestige. I also wondered whether What happens if it breaks down? but I suspect the FKFV staff will welcome him with open arms with their iconic car. These are clear risks, fortunately there are many things in the other pan as well.
For example the great quality, the two straps in the box, the wild but also striking design, the automatic movement, the cool fluorescence, but obviously The skeleton design carries the show. The average person thinks it's MUCH more expensive than it actually is, but in Hungarian terms, the Aliexpress price is still attractive.
Near 112 800 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The prices indicated in the article are informative and in all cases are HUF equivalents of the price displayed on the webshop's interface in USD (or in EUR, if there is no USD option) (according to the interbank exchange rate valid at the time of writing the article). They ask for it - but you have to pay customs, so it's about 150 - although I've seen it for less than half that. It's well worth it, but for this price it's already "Pieces from "low end" Swiss brands are also available. Even if you don't choose from the holy trinity of Swiss watches like Audemars Piguet, Vacheron Constantin, or Patek Philippe, but rather from, say, Tissot's offering, they're not mechanical.
