We planned to test the Xiaomi Mijia TS sunglasses for the beginning of the summer, but as usual, we faced delays in delivery. We are just about to enter the sunniest season, when the use of sunglasses is especially justified, but whoever orders them will most likely only use them in autumn. We rightfully expect the HUF 6000 accessory to be a quality item, as it is not a particularly cheap dozen.

Otherwise, the glasses are of good quality, the frame is made of thin metal - which, despite appearances, is quite flexible and difficult to bend -, the bridge of the nose and the end of the temples are covered with soft rubber, so they are particularly comfortable to wear, which is also helped by their small weight. The stems were difficult to open in the beginning, but now they have come in nicely. Later, if they are already too loose, we can tighten them with the two small screws at the attachment. A case and a cleaning cloth were included in the box, so we won't have a problem with these either, and cards praising the designer, Turok Steinhardt (for whom Google doesn't give any results apart from Xiaomi's glasses) were also included.

The plastic (polyamide) lens also seems to be of good quality, according to Ofotértes inspection, it has 100% UV filtering (UV 400) and a polarized coating, so it also filters reflections, which is the biggest advantage when driving. The lens does not distort, it is not stained, it is not cloudy, it is really pleasant to use. Because of this and the small crowd, it's easy to forget that we're wearing glasses, which I think is beneficial. I can't ignore the fact that one of the lenses was left in my hand during cleaning... I could easily put it back in the frame without damage, but then the lens of the XNUMX glasses wouldn't fall out.

Summary

The Xiaomi Mijia TS sunglasses would be a good thing, but they are not. On the one hand, it was very big for 6 out of 5 people, it fit one (me), but it still looked lame. Because of this, I see annoying reflections in the periphery, which is also disturbing. On the other hand, I don't think the loss of the lens is one of the tolerable quality defects. Otherwise, the glasses are light, stylish, comfortable, of good quality and, based on the inspection, the lens is 100% UV filtered and polarized, so basically there would be no problem with it, but based on the above, I can only rate it average, especially for HUF 6000.

Pro

  • Easy
  • Designer
  • Good quality lens (UV 400, polarized)
  • Comfortable

Kontra

  • It's a large lens, so it fits very few people
  • Reflections on the periphery due to the large lens
  • Lens fell out of frame
