Last year, I found the Xiaomi 90fen heated winter coat, but then I put it down because they asked HUF 45 for it, which I found quite high. Supposedly, heated stuffed cabbage is never good, but I ran another round on the topic and found the "Xiaomiized" version of the above product for 000, which the BGheated20 could be obtained with a coupon. It looks the same as the piece from a year ago, and you can't get something like that cheaper here either, so the test made sense.

You can hide the power bank in the pocket on the inside, which will provide the right amount of energy for the heating, for this I used a first-generation Xiaomi Power Bank - the chubby but small variant - it fits in the right place very easily. Be careful with the more brutal units with a capacity of 20 Ah or more, they may have a tight pocket. There are no other internal holders, but there are three lockable ones on the outside, which I would say is plenty. And on the hood, you can discover the only element that breaks the design, the reflective strip. The jacket is made of water-repellent, impregnated material, you can easily pour it down your sleeve, no liquid will get in.

Another issue is that I didn't find the trendy Goretex/Drytex and similar micro-tube technology mark on the jacket - which in principle ensures good ventilation - so it competes more with the Aldis/Lidlös line than with Columbia/Salomon level brands. And then come the Xiaomi legend: in theory, the same jacket exists Also called Xiaomi 90fen, three times as much. You're used to having Xiaomi written on everything - for example, products found in the Youpin web store - but the opposite happened here: in order to make things cheaper, the name was left out, and the price immediately dropped to a third, which I think is especially beneficial here.

As for the heating capabilities, it can provide pleasant warmth at the maximum level, and I think it also heats in good places. Two panels were placed on the lower part of the stomach area, and a larger one at the back, which reached up to the nape of the neck, and since the dog likes to pile up on top, it is good that it is warm here as well. It's worth muting it down with a colorful scarf, the gentleman in the picture also uses this to brighten up the mournful black look, that's why the jacket looks so ugly in the pictures, but it's not so trendy in real life without the colorful neckerchief.

How much exactly does a product cost?

For the sake of simplicity, we always convert the USD prices into forints in our articles, usually according to the calculator on the given page. However, the reality is that your bank exchanges the currency HUF 4-5 worse than the interbank exchange rate, which means that the product always costs a little more than the stated price.

You can help by ordering these completely free bank cards, a Revolut, Monese and Curve also offer this – for the latter, you get 5 GBP for free, in the app D4WGX4ZE  use a coupon code - or the menu bar at the top #fintech click on the label to read our posts on the topic.

It consumes 1,5 amperes from the power bank, but not continuously, but with an on-off method, the length of the switched-on state depends on which of the three levels - 25/35/45 degrees - you choose. I experienced the same thing when testing the heating vest, I think they all work in such a similar system.

The button for setting the level is located inside the heart area, which is beneficial from the point of view that you won't look like Iron Man, so you have to open the jacket to adjust the heating power.

I mentioned at the beginning of my article that this is not a ski jacket - on the contrary, it is very good for hiking - and I thought I could discover clear signs of this. One is that the entry gate of almost all ski lift systems is on the left side, so a pass pocket is usually placed on the left sleeve of the jacket, since the days when you had to insert a card into a slot are long gone.

This is what the test subject lacks. The other is the snow catcher at the waist - which is also not there - but there is usually an elastic net at the end of the sleeve of the jacket that you can pull over your thumbs, these prevent the snow from entering when it falls.

There is no internal phone holder and headphone jack, and the hood also has no zippered pocket on the back of the neck, although if you have skied downhill - as most people do - then it just hangs around your neck unnecessarily, so it would be good to put it somewhere. In more serious jackets - e.g. Columbia – a silver-colored heat-reflecting material is also used, since these clothes are thin, the emphasis is not on thickness, but on layering, because it is a good heat retainer. So, our test subject is clearly not a ski jacket, but a great winter jacket that you can ski in, as long as you choose the right size.

According to my experience, Far Easterners, Americans and Europeans measure clothes quite differently. The first gang makes clothes for goblins - small body, short arms -, the middle one makes clothes for obese, large people, and the last gang makes clothes for gibbons - normal body, long arms. Always check the size chart, for me the man's M - 77 kg, 175 cm height - the sleeve was a bit short, if you have a similar general size, choose the L.

Summary

The heated jacket is a correct piece of clothing, I can't mention any particular faults - maybe only that it has a single inner pocket - but you have to pay attention when choosing the size, this is the neuralgic point. Unfortunately, it's only available in two colors, which I don't think is very fashionable, but a more colorful scarf will brighten it up, and many people are looking for a single-colored dress without any branding, it will be perfect for them.

I think it's a great choice for winter when combined with a heated vest, and the price is not at Xiaomi's heights, as it was last year. It's not a ski jacket, but it's good for hiking, and it's also waterproof, so the rain doesn't cause much of a problem either. The price with a coupon is HUF 13 - a BGheated20 with code - which is far from more branded winter coats, so it's not a bad purchase at all, especially if you order with EU Priority Line VAT and duty-free delivery.

Pro

  • Nice quality
  • Realistic value for money
  • It can be adjusted in three levels
  • Great for daily commuting and winter hiking

Kontra

  • The black color is quite plain (also available in blue)
  • The sleeve of the M version is a little short, men of average size should choose Lt
  • Not ideal for skiing
