The long-awaited Lenovo 100P has arrived, which is the latest projector of the brand and is not yet available in our country. Based on the technical parameters and its knowledge, it is really promising, since the classic 1920×1080 pixel resolution is accompanied by a brightness of 1300 ANSI lumens and the projector is capable of automatic focus adjustment, keystone correction, object avoidance and image adjustment to the canvas, so you will not have to do much. I am writing an opinion

The Lenovo 100P comes in a box with an ugly design, in which you won't find much except for the projector: a charging cable, without an adapter, because it is located in the projector, a remote control that, unfortunately, does not have a Netflix button, or even that of any other popular online streaming service provider, as well as a cruelly short user manual.

The test subject comes with a very interesting, tiltable and rotatable base, which is a downright brilliant solution, because the projector can be moved and adjusted easily.

You don't have to mess around with small fold-out legs, which usually cost as much as the kiss is dead and you don't even have to think about how thick a book you can use to raise the projector sufficiently. Lenovo 100P with this well-designed stand you can turn it around 360 degrees, and up and down 170 degrees, so you can even project it onto the ceiling with ease. From here on, you can forget about the existence of projector stands and standard mounting threads, although you will find four of the latter on the bottom of the projector base.

At first glance, the Lenovo 100P is a BlitzWolf BW-V3 Max Projector it occurred to me because its design is similarly beautiful and clean, it consists of white and light gray parts. Elegant design, a little because of the rotatable and tiltable base futuristic too. The use of materials is sufficiently robust, and you will also find a small handle on the sole, so the manufacturer has maximized the ergonomics. There aren't too many connectors on the back, but you can find the basics:

  • 1 piece 3,5 millimeters Jack port
  • 1 pieces HDMI jack
  • 1 pieces USB port

And that is all.

Another USB port could really have been used, since the with remote control it's not very fun to enter your login data everywhere, so the first thing I always do is to stick a wireless keyboard on it, but then there's no room left for, for example, a pen drive. About the wireless connection 6 WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0 takes care of. Let's see if the Lenovo 100P projector delivers as promised!

Lenovo 100P projector test - Still not perfect

The Lenovo 100P is much different middle class classic like the model, with a native resolution of 1920×1080 pixels has Projectors more serious than this usually have a 4K resolution, but in the case of the test subject only supported resolution is 4K. This means that it can play 4K content, but by definition only at its native resolution, i.e. in Full HD. The brightness of the projector is much more exciting than that, because

The Lenovo 100P boasts 1300 ANSI lumens, which is a really commendable value.

You will notice this from the very first moment you turn it on, since without exception everything projected by the projector will be much more enjoyable this way. You won't have to cramp because of the sunlight filtering in, you can see this in the gallery below. While I was fiddling with the settings, I took the photos below with sunlight filtering in. Thanks to such brightness not only in the apartment the test subject is able to provide a quality cinema experience, but also outdoors.

This high brightness is achieved by a high light transmittance, lens made entirely of glass provides, which increases the optical efficiency and also ensures the adequate rendering of bright colors. Of this, the HDR10 support also plays its part, as it increases the contrast ratio and color depth, so the projector gives a brighter and more detailed image than average.

The Lenovo 100P can do that for automatic focus adjustment, keystone correction and object avoidance, as well as for adjusting the projected image to the canvas, so for everything that stimulates the eyes and mouth - at least he knows them on paper. You can really try the latter if you don't project it onto an empty, white wall, but instead have a canvas with a black frame. In theory, the projector will see this and automatically shrink the image to the appropriate size.

Az automatic focus adjustment a real classic, which is basically done well by the Lenovo 100P, but you can still tinker with it manually if you feel the need, I did the same. Except for this function, you have to turn everything on in the settings for the projector to do it automatically, so don't be surprised if it doesn't do anything after the first turn on.

On the other hand, it hurt that he was never able to adjust the trapezoidal correction normally by himself,

because the image was constantly tilted in one direction and one of the edges was more obscure than it should be. Here I still tried to save what could be saved and fiddle with it manually, because you also have the option.

A by avoiding the subject In relation to this, we are used to it in the editorial office that this function does not necessarily work the way we imagine it, in fact, sometimes it doesn't work at all. Well, the Lenovo 100P had both. Since I usually project above the sofa with the projectors, I always use a decorative pillow, which the test subject noticed in the very first round, and then as a result

clumsily crumpled and distorted the whole picture.

It gave me a feeling like when I eat sour gum and every part of me twitches from the taste. On the second, third and fourth attempts the projector didn't even notice the same decorative pillow, which I was somewhat happy about, because after his first paralysis, it took me a few minutes to get the picture right again, because, as I mentioned above, the keystone correction isn't real either - to put it mildly. There are three Hungarian truths, plus one encore, so I didn't force more, so

he gets the black point.

According to the manufacturer, the smallest diagonal image that the Lenovo 100P can project is 60 inches, which translates to 152,4 centimeters. The largest is 120 inches, which translates to 304,8 centimeters. According to the manufacturer the golden mean is the 100-inch, i.e. 254-centimeter image, which requires a distance of 2,2 meters between the projector and the wall/screen. This is at least completely valid, I tried from the same distance and I think this size is more than enough even if you sit down with the whole family or friends to film or shoot a series. Netflix I watched some parts of it Aunty Donna: House of Fun from the series, which I don't think is more insane than that, however

the projector gets another black point because Widevine is only L3,

which is pretty sad, because it makes full streaming subscriptions worthless - provided you have one, because it's not a necessity.

Underneath the sleek design of the Lenovo 100P 2 GB of memory and 32 GB of storage which are also nice values, since usually you should be happy with 8 or 16 GB of storage space. Own Android TV runs on it, namely the version 9, which is not exactly today's chicken and this is unfortunately felt in its speed. It took about 1000 years to load my Google account login interface because the projector likes to think for a long time on something like that. By the way, if you know a little English, then I do not recommend choosing the Hungarian language, because the translation is sometimes scandalous, which can be terribly confusing in the settings, for example.

At least mirroring from the phone didn't cause any problems for the projector,

at least with an apple phone. That's it for this iOSCast in the Google Play Store, provided you can ever log into your Google account. Your smartphone and the projector must be on the same WiFi network, and the Lenovo 100P "BirdCast-0e1" you can find it under the name In the case of an Android device, a Miracast you will need an app called For sound, 2 built-in units, one each 5 watt speaker answers, which are surprisingly good, and the cooling of the projector is not loud at all, 29-31 dB I measured with the Sound Meter application.

Summary

I've been waiting to test the Lenovo 100P for quite some time, but overall it should to say to write that disappointment volt. The most annoying thing is that It cannot perform two out of four automatic functions nearly normally, not to mention that your system is not very agile, and Widevine's certification is only L3. Of course, you can live happily without Widevine L1, but the brutal 1300 ANSI lumen brightness and I feel the nice design is not enough to turn a blind eye to its far from excellent performance. In this price range, you can find plenty of projectors that deliver what they promise, my personal favorite is the Wanbo Mozart 1 Pro and the Wanbo DaVinci 1 Pro, which the test here and here you find it.

If you're willing to compromise and still want a quality name-brand projector that's bright enough, then Lenovo 100P now 81 700 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD).
