N-One Npad Ultra tablet test
What is ultra here is medium elsewhere

Quite a few of the N-One tablets we tested already, but their top model, the N-One Npad Ultra, has not been with us, until now. Compared to the previous tabs, the central core was replaced with a Qualcomm product, 8 GB of RAM was added, a 2K display was placed on the front, and the latest version of Android 14 was chosen as the system. The price is slightly higher than before, 68 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The housing creaks, something clicks inside, the tablet is not very rigid,
which is bad, because I can't believe it was made for eternity. A Xiaomi Pad, for example, doesn't even squeak, there is still room to improve the Ultra. It takes up charging via a Type-C port at the bottom, there is one in the box There is a 15 W, also Type-Cs, PD capable charger - QC charging power is 18W, sorry for that 3W lost power - with a cable with the same end and a description. You can find out how to do it in English, there is no Hungarian language, but it's a tablet, you'll be fine with it. It has 4 speakers, this is called the quad system, and this design is good beyond the better sound quality, because it is harder to cover them with your palms while playing.
Next to the N-One Npad Ultra, they added a screen protector, a bluetooth one keyboard, one tablet case, which is also a cover element and which is said to automatically wake up or send the tablet to sleep mode. It doesn't do that, but it can be used perfectly as a support, let's say why the former would work, since it's just a plastic sheet. Hiding at the top of the tablet is the dual SIM tray, in which you can insert a micro SD card and a SIM. The former expands it 128 GB of storage with an additional 2 TB, and with the help of the 4G modem, you can use the Internet anywhere, even if there is no WiFi.

Because the N-One Npad Ultra is quite good in terms of wireless connections and sensors,
but it still has its shortcomings. Dual WiFi, BT 5.2, 4G modem, hall sensor, gyroscope, proximity sensor, numerous positioning systems – GPS, GLONASS, etc. – and I could go on. What don't you have? NFC, light sensor, and let's face it, the lack of the latter is rather annoying, because you always have to manually adjust the brightness.
As for the battery, it is 9200 mAh, with which the manufacturer promises 10 hours of online use. Of course, this can be measured in several ways, after watching 1 hour of YouTube videos, the tablet was drained by 5%, which is quite a champion, allowing 20 hours of video viewing at medium brightness, but you can also try PcMark if someone wants to spend hours with this test. Converting the battery capacity, we get 34 Wh per watt hour, so it takes approximately 2,5-3 hours to charge the battery. This is fine anyway, and you can even tell that it is fast charging, but compared to the 6 W performance of the Xiaomi Pad 135S Pro, for example, it is not very strong, but it is in a completely different category.
Snapdragon chips, unlike MTK, Unisoc, and other still running manufacturers, have some advantages.
Their sensors are more reliable, more economical, and overall very stable, although recently some MTK Dimensities are already beating them in terms of performance, such as the G99 chip. The biggest problem with the Snapdragon 685 is that it cannot be associated with 5G, only with a 4G modem, so you have to give up on that. Let's see what the benchmarks say:
- Antutu V10: 351 points
- GFX Bench, T-Rex on-screen/off-screen test: 42/46 FPS
- Antutu storage tester, write/read: dot; /Mbps (sequential) 1022/553 MB/s
- PcMark Work 3.0: 7713 points
That's cheaper Alldocube iPlay 50 Mini Pro NFE tablet for example, it beats it, if not by much, but as you can see, there is no need to throw around words like Ultra, since this performance is also achieved by products from other manufacturers. As for games, we have already written countless times that almost all Android games - but not CarX Street, for example - rescale themselves. So I pushed Asphalt 9, CarX Street, Genshin Impact, and Shadowgun Legends -- usually on "Most Demanding Android Games"-type lists -- and pushed a few laps. Let's just say that it's not too difficult to fold out the iron, and since the refresh rate is also only 60 Hz, therefore the action is not so continuous. The N-One Npad Ulra it's not a gamer tablet, but you can play on it.

The display is excellent, the touch sensitivity of the 2K - 2000×1200 pixel - IPS panel is good - you can touch it with 10 fingers - and the brightness is adequate in the room.
I liked the vivid color reproduction and the good viewing angles, although this is true for all displays with IPS technology. THE 12 inches is quite a brutal size, this is not an easy-to-carry product, and the 580 grams also reinforces this. Allow the "narrow bezel" nonsense, even though the manufacturer claims this, it is simply not true, because a 1 cm thick black border surrounds the useful area of the display. That doesn't make it a bad panel, and I'll tell you the good news: it's great for consuming streaming content, since The N-One Npad Ultra tablet received Widevine L1 certification, as shown by the DRM Info test software and Netflix.
In terms of operating system, the fresh-crisp The hardware runs Android 14, which seemed completely factory to me, so it was free of bloatware. N-One has not yet gotten to the point of fabricating all kinds of user interfaces for itself, which I think is welcome. For those interested in what's new in Droid 14, take a look here, I can say by feeling that the main version runs quickly and smoothly on the hardware, I didn't encounter any hiccups. The relatively fast, flash-based storage that supports the UFS 2.2 standard certainly also has timeless merits.
As for cameras, they are typically not the most important part of a tablet. You can manage the following hardware:
- 13 MP rear camera with auto focus
- 5 MP selfie camera
What is quite surprising about the N-One Npad Ultra tablet is that the there are two cameras on the back, but it's actually just one. Actually, I couldn't find any description of this, either a blind camera is the second or the unit responsible for depth of field, which was not accessed by software. The 5 megapixel selfie is good for making video calls, because this resolution does not allow much else. As for the 13 MP sensor, it takes 4:3 pictures, which are not bad for a tablet, as long as you're shooting close-up objects, but as the distance increases, the detail deteriorates tremendously. In addition, the images burn out easily, cannot focus well on nearby objects, so it is mostly suitable for capturing very simple things, nothing else.

When it comes to videos, the N-One Npad Ultra joins the motion picture stream at 1080p resolution, on the other hand, the resolution is poor, the recording constantly burns out, or the colors change randomly, depending on where the sensor is sampling from. If that wasn't enough, refocusing jerks the image back and forth. The sound is like Uncle Sanyi shoveling a whistle on a concrete slab in the background, while constantly banging the garden tool against the surface, so crap. Let's leave it at that, it's not even worth showing.
This is interesting because the system was upgraded with 4 speakers, but it still doesn't sound good.
The deep sounds are completely absent, a hardened crooning emerges from it, but at least loud enough. Unfortunately, this is also disturbing during games, and I really don't know what to think of the weakness in videos. Chinese manufacturers are used to jumping this level, it's a shame for this beauty flaw.
Summary
The summary of the N-One Npad Ultra is simple, just ignore the Ultra name, because there is no big trick in it. Mostly a Teclast T60, which we also tested, and I think the N-One Npad Ultra is a better product. Its assembly could be better, its cameras are terrible, the fast charging could be better, the sound is not good and the accessories have to be bought separately, but apart from that, this is a well-configured tablet, maybe a little better than the Teclast T60, of course they are actually alternatives to each other. Its 12-inch display is quite fine, the Snapdragon 685 SoC is an economical and quite powerful central core and that size makes it great video streaming hardware. So the savior of N-One is not a bad choice, you just have to manage its abilities in the right place.
