The Doogee T20 Ultra is a kind of nomen est omen tablet, it is the company's flagship. 12+20 GB RAM, 256 GB storage, 12-inch display, full-bodied MTK SoC, 4G modem, so it has everything you can expect in the middle category. The package also included the case and screen protector. 95 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). I wouldn't use the word magic to describe the look of the Doogee T20 Ultra,

you don't have to be a design guru to draw a tablet, but the shape doesn't allow too much room for maneuver either. The camera island is moderately bumpy, the buttons are on one side, while the SIM card holder is on the bottom edge, sharing the area with 2 of the quad speakers. At the bottom, the keyboard connector is enthroned, which is understandable, for 12-inch tablets it is often used together with a keyboard and mouse or even a stylus, this is almost expected in this size class. The jack is placed on one corner, while a Type-C is responsible for charging.

It's a shame that fast charging is only capable of 18 W,

that's why a 25 W charger was included in the box, with which a 10 mAh battery cannot be charged in a flash. In practice, this means that it charges from 20 to 100% in 2 hours and 48 minutes, which is anything but fast, the same would be more than three hours from zero. While watching a video, at medium brightness, the tab dropped by 3%, while the record in the PcMark Work 3.0 test 15 hours and 7 he put together a minute, which is brutal. Mainly because this Dropped from 94% to 20% did you know, then how much can the total be? I was curious so I ran it again out of curiosity and 19 hours 17 minutes came out, I think this is a record among the products tested so far.

Ejecting the SIM tray of the Dooge T20 Ultra reveals the dual card slot, where you will certainly not have two SIMs, but 1 SIM or rather a micro SD card, since the 256GB storage is said to be expandable up to 1TB. I couldn't find any official information about this, and I didn't have a sim card that big to test, so this is just a guess. Unlike the sensor set which dual WiFi, BT 5.2 and 4G modem, support for satellite systems, light sensor, accelerometer, compass, pedometer, proximity sensor it runs out, so they packed the iron well, nothing is missing, maximum NFC. This is not important for a tablet, but it comes in handy, for example, if you want to connect to NFC-capable headphones or routers, no one will pay for such a large margin anyway.

Doogee T20 Ultra tablet test - Great material quality

One of the typical nails in the coffin of tablets is weak hardware, and the problem is not that they leave things out, but that, for example, they ignore the issue of the central core and choose an older, higher bandwidth, cheap solution instead. In the case of the Doogee T20 Ultra, the MTK G12 using 256 nanometer technology was added to the 6 GB RAM and 99 GB storage. and it didn't make me faint.

I believe in quantitative analysis, so I always start with the testers, because this offers a suitable basis for comparison. First value is the Poco Pad, second is the Doogee T20 Ultra, let's see what numbers came up:

  • Antutu V10: 560 points; 388 231 points;
  • GFX Bench, T-Rex on-screen/off-screen test: 80/123 FPS; 50 / 62 FPS
  • Antutu hard drive tester, write/read (sequential): 912,7/832,7 MB/s; 1017/849MB/s;
  • PCMark Job 3.0: 11939; 9728 points;

Based on the above, the power of the Doogee T20 Ultra is not equivalent to an atomic flash, although it beats the Teclast T60 and the N-One Npad Ultra minimally.

It also doesn't help that older SoCs, where the bandwidth is higher and were made with a less advanced manufacturing process, are more likely to destroy electrons. More raw power would be needed to spin more muscular games faster, of course there will be no problem with the average names, but a Genshin Impact or Car X Street becomes a comic book at higher settings, not to mention ZZZ. Anyone who would beat them with such devices should not take this device home, but the Doogee T9 Ultra will also be good for playing Asphalt 20 and other things that do not require so much resources. And as for the 32 GB of "memory", it is the usual 12+20 GB of virtual memory, nothing else, which is called "Hybrid memory" here.

By the way, the product was pointed at the display, which was not bad.

It is a 12-inch, 2000×1200 pixel IPS panel with 350 nits of brightness., from which it is easy to guess that this is more of an indoor product. Its colors are good, as are its viewing angles, and it also meets the usual TÜV SÜD blue light emission certificate. My problem is that all cheap competitors have similar displays. I searched for the Teclast T60 and that N-One Npad Ultra tests, and they also give this score, the SoC is the same in the T60, and the display is similar in both.

The operating system is nothing extra Android 13,

it is relatively recent, although the manufacturer does not advertise how long it will take for updates to be released, but two came during use. Doogee doesn't mess around with its own system like, say, Xiaomi with Hyper OS, and in fact, they didn't even install a customized user interface on the hardware, even though in the past they uploaded DokuOS to their Android devices and it wasn't bad either. In practice, in the case of the Doogee T20 Ultra, you can use stock Android, which is fortunate because I encountered zero bloatware or advertising. The good news is that the Chinese manufacturers are also they are increasingly calling for Widevine certificates, here also L1, so you can stream streaming stuff in full resolution, as long as your subscription supports it.

In the case of tablets, the camera set is usually just an indicator, and things were not exaggerated here either:

  • 8 MP main camera
  • 16 MP selfie camera

I've been trying to track down what hardware it has, and I think it is OmniVision supplies the sensors. There is no stabilization, and the default setting is to take 16 MP, 4:3 images, that is, the software scales up the images compared to the actual resolution of the 8 megapixel sensor. Needless to say, the classic mistakes of cheap solutions occur:

  • light metering
  • focusing
  • contrast and image burnout

problems, respectively due to low resolution, the contours of distant objects and vegetation are also blurred. But I can also say: there is nothing to see here, roughly all tablets in this category are like this. The night images of the Doogee T20 Ultra add to the above faults with the tempera blur, a good, classic example of taking very simple photos is capturing the opening hours of the doctor's office.

What do you think the videos would be like if the pictures were like this? They are just what everyone expects, a Full HD video stream with a maximum of 60 FPS it doesn't shine, but there is EIS here, at least according to the software. The quality would not be so bad, but there are focusing errors and the low resolution of the sensor is also felt in the final result. Not so at night, when the sensitivity to light is zero, I've seen such dark and pixelated pictures for a long time. It's a loose category, but it doesn't divide or multiply in the final settlement, so I didn't score the tablet because of that.

Summary

Doogee T20 Ultra is a direct opponent of Teclast T60 and N-One Npad based on technical parameters, but With 4 GB of RAM, it can show more. Where you can really make use of your skills is the role of an android workstation keyboard, stylus and mouse are not included, you have to buy this separately. The hardware isn't too muscular, though I didn't encounter any errors either, the equivalent components do their job, by 2024 the MediaTek hardware will also be up to the task. And the large amount of memory helps the system to move smoothly, and the backup storage is also fast enough for use, and there is no other word for the operating time than brutal.

Do you have any other questions? I don't think there is, maybe it's just that the quality of the Doogee T20 Ultra is better than the other two counterparts, and I think the +4 GB RAM is also worth the minimal premium, there's just one problem: for that reason, the Poco Pad is even better, as it is the most desirable purchase in the category. Everyone can decide which of the two they like best.

Pro

  • Tons of RAM
  • Nice quality
  • Pretty fast backup
  • Many sensors, 4G modem
  • Brutally long operating time

Kontra

  • Accessories must be purchased separately
  • The hardware is not very muscular and the price is close to 100
