Govee is a case of "diamonds in the coals", a Chinese brand that few people know, yet they produce brilliant stuff. Today I tested two of their products, one is a so-called "Music Sync Box", which is quite difficult to translate into Hungarian, but its essence is that it controls other devices based on music, and the controlled subject is the Govee Aura Lite table lamp, which is an RGBWW light fixture and follows the beat of the music. The Music Sync Box is practically a gateway,
which brings the other Govee tools together. It's very easy to use, but if it doesn't work for someone, you can find a great explanatory video on the product page. The thing must be paired with the app after switching it on, from here on able to receive 7 different Bluetooth enabled Govee smart devices. That is, all lamps, LEDs, corner lighting, burners and the like. Its task is to process the beat of the music and synchronize it with the devices listed below, so that all lighting fixtures will flash the beat you want to "see" at the same time. It also has a 2500 mAh battery, which provides 50 hours of energy, which, let's face it, will survive every party, and even the after party. The Music Sync Box can also be used while charging, so you can also use it connected to a constant power supply.

There is one rule regarding controlled devices: they must be within 10 meters.
That's practically it the standard bluetooth range, since such devices can be managed by Music Sync Box. I tested this by I moved the controlled Govee Aura table lamp behind two walls and it worked perfectly there too, so this range is really there, but usually the mood-relevant lights will be inside a room anyway. It is also worth noting the code name of the Govee Aura Lite lamp, because you will have to add it from the list in the app as follows: H6051. It follows that there is one H6050 and one H6052 which are variants of this lamp and are also great stuff. But back to the test subject, which a particularly high quality product, I enjoyed its interface. If only because it can be controlled this way, but fortunately they made it so simple that even a three-year-old child could figure out how.
There is a disc on top, touch the middle to turn on the thing, the + and - buttons control the brightness, the note is responsible for listening to music - it also has a built-in microphone – while you can switch between colors with the arrow key. After a long press of the latter, the lamp changes to the white basic color, and now it's time to clarify what it is RGBWW abbreviation, which is also included in the name of the product on the Govee website. RGB stands for red-green-blue primary colors, while WW stands for white, twice. The meaning of the latter is that white is associated with several color temperatures, mostly warm and cold white colors, which this lamp also handles. Although this is just technical data that sounds good, but You can choose from 16 million shades, you can mix these from a color palette in the app.

As I mentioned above, the lamp also contains a built-in microphone, with which you can follow the music. You should enter the app right away, because, for example, from here you can switch the software to use your phone's microphone. It follows from this that it is not necessary for the Music Sync Box, the lights or the mobile phone to be in the same place, since actually the microphone of any device will do. And this is the genius of the system you can place the stuff anywhere in the apartment, just have at least one microphone near the sound source.
Let's jump to the app, because "it has the vitamin", I mean all the interesting things. There is only one tricky thing about the control: you can connect to both the lamp and the Music Sync Box, but not both at the same time. Although it is Aura Lite on WiFi and BLE - which stands for Bluetooth Low Energy - is also capable connect to our devices, Music Sync Box only supports BT connection, so by definition they are connected to each other through this. If you upgraded to Govee Aura Lite, you have more setting options, if Sync Box is the boss, then the palette is a little narrower, but even that is plentiful. I'll stick with the lamp so I can cover the whole spectrum:
- effects lab: they could mix all kinds of light effects, there are extra funny ones - e.g. those imitating the colors of vegetables or fruits - which were organized into thematic groups
- timer: the classic timer function, but it can also be timed for waking up and falling asleep, in which case the light will decrease and increase the brightness in a 15-minute time interval
- brightness adjustment between 1-100%
- modes of operation: you can set all kinds of modes, there is smooth music tracking, there are color variations, all kinds of fancy names, but you can also create whatever you like
- style: party, dynamic, calm, which sets the frequency and intensity
- color selection: can also repeat colors in a specific order

The above may not seem like much, but since everything can be mixed like pumpkin with poppies, the number of combinations is practically endless.
Since the brightness Adjustable between 1 and 350 lumens, it can really be fully customized. As for the possibilities of the Music Sync Box, they are somewhat narrower, since the effects have to be applied to all devices at the same time, and not all of them have the same options. There is also a menu in which you can turn on the brightness synchronization and sensitivity. The other things, however, are largely the same as those mentioned above, so it is not worth dissecting it separately.
I missed one thing: that I could only try out the party lights on one lamp.
I think so such things must be bought in pairs, because otherwise even if they don't follow the music perfectly, they certainly come close. And the experience is huge, it's a shame that stuff like this didn't exist when I was 20 years old, when I lived my disco era. The good thing about it all is that Govee also produces a number of more universal solutions, such as stick-on LED strips, which you can hide behind the edges, but you can also put up mood lights above the TV, which change their color to the beat of the movies. It's great fun, not too expensive, I recommend it to everyone.
Summary
Govee's stuff struck a few chords in my soul, I remembered my younger days and how good such a system would have been for parties. From some points of view, these are totally unnecessary products, and from another point of view, they are the "instant get" category. Awfully you can wish for it for programmable lights, and those who would only expand little by little, just need to buy a Music Sync Box and gradually supplement the set with additional lighting fixtures. Why don't I write about the pros and cons? Because I couldn't really get involved in anything. Good quality, great functions, and I could list more, but everyone's desire to buy such mood-enhancing stuff is based on an emotional decision.
