BlitzWolf BW-CML2 Pro monitor lamp test
A bit deaf offspring

The monitor lamp is one of the most useful things that has entered the public consciousness in recent years, I also have a BW-CML1 at home, about test we also wrote, but also the BW-CML2, its sister model we took it under scrutiny. Today's test subject is a more advanced model of the latter, which is a dual lamp equipped with an RGB LED and a normal white light, which also comes with a remote control. For the CML2 Pro, which is considered an über solution among lamps, a BG6deb03 9000 with coupon FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). What I would like to draw your attention to is the holder for the light source, which can be placed on the monitor, which is the crux of the whole thing.
I say this because I've seen at least three different solutions, and the magnetic adhesive solutions are, let's say, sz@rok. Sticking it on and removing it is tricky, the magnet doesn't last long enough, it can't be put on every monitor. A good solution is the openable counterweight, because it can be set to a normal angle, and since I have 3 displays at home, it has to go up on all of them. And it goes up, because they invented the stuff normally, even though KTC, LG and Xiaomi do not even produce monitors with similar back panels.

The size is also important, as a lamp that is too large can be difficult to use on a smaller laptop,
and it doesn't matter how thick the monitor coffee is. From 42x3x1,7 cm it is the case of the CML2 Pro, which is slightly larger than the Xiaomi Mi Gaming notebook, by roughly 2-3 centimeters per side. But since it stands well on it, it didn't particularly bother me either, but this size is mostly a Ideal for panels 24-27 inches or larger. The white LED is visible from the eye - which asymmetrically is lit., this supposedly reduces the harmful effect of the monitor's light - and the complete control, from which you can also adjust the rear RGB LED. BlitzWolf is very proud to it is a "wireless" adjustable lamp, from which you might think that it is WiFi and can be adjusted via an app, maybe BT, but no, but from its own remote control.

I think this controller is a remnant of the 90s,
on the one hand, it is not practical, and on the other hand, they produced garbage with it. In itself, the fact that you have to load an AAA battery in it is not very convenient, on the other hand relatively rarely do you adjust the monitor light without sitting in front of it, if so, what is the remote control for? I would have given the app better, but then the product would obviously be more expensive than it is. The color temperature of the white LED can be adjusted between 2700-4500-6500 kelvin in 3 steps, i.e. not continuously, but this function is still great, because cold-white is better for reading, and warm-white is better for background light. The same goes for the touch interface, everything is intuitive.
Its brightness can be changed in 5 steps between 400 and 1000 lumens, the latter is quite a lot, you can easily read next to it.
The RGB LED can play in all kinds of colors - a total of 7 - but this has been solved by changing 6 effects - this is called dynamic mode - for which there is a separate button on the remote. Also, there is actually a seventh one, the static one, when it lights up with a specific basic color. There are also one or two hyper irritants, e.g. at maximum speed the "stack" is quite cruel in the dark, but who cares. In principle, there are 3 music modes on the remote control, but it doesn't work as it should. In order for the lamp to be able to follow a rhythm, it must have a microphone - or if it was app-based, you could use the phone's own - and based on the results, this is in a very bad place. The strange thing was that if I slapped my desk, it would sometimes flash, but if only my EarFun Uboom L sounded smooth - test here -, half a meter away from him, he didn't even flinch. If I pressed the speaker directly next to it, it flickered, but its sensitivity is, let's say, almost zero. I noticed that it reacts to sharp sounds and the blowing of the tabletop, but not to anything else, but the way it works is complete bullshit.

The CML2 Pro is powered by a Type-C cable and a 5 V/2 A power source - so it consumes a maximum of 10 W - so it's best if you plug the end of the cable into an older battery charger. This reminded me that the traditional laptop USB-A port does not pump out that much current, so I tried to operate it from there as well. It actually holds up, I didn't notice any significant difference, the USB 3.0 standard can deliver 900 mAh, but it is said to also support 2,4 At in charging mode. If you have Type-C on your device, put it on, it will definitely handle it.
Summary
There was only one thing I didn't like about the BW-CML2 Pro, and that was the (not) following the beat of the music. Apart from this great and cheap tool, and I definitely encourage anyone who doesn't have a monitor light to buy one. The fact that the monitor doesn't dazzle you so much - and thus the health risks can be somewhat reduced - is worth the money, but you can even configure it to carbon in terms of both brightness and color temperature. I don't think it will make you a better gamer, but the RGB LED boosts your mood. 9000 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD).
