PVY Z20 Pro Evo electric bike test
Camping, dachshund, one goes

PVY is a relatively well-known, but not very old, manufacturer in the electric bike market. The “camping bike” replica with 20-inch wheels is powered by a 250 W electric motor, in pedelec mode by default. The range is 120 kilometers on paper, but the real deal is not that, but its foldable nature and easy transportability. Not only is its weight low, but its price is also reasonable, since it is a torque-sensing bike, which is why NIUXZ20EVO coupon code 277 000 FtDue to the conversion rates of the webshops, the prices may differ for different currencies (e.g. if you set the webshop to HUF, the prices are usually higher than if you set it to USD). The prices indicated in the article are informative and in all cases are HUF equivalents of the price displayed on the webshop's interface in USD (or in EUR, if there is no USD option) (according to the interbank exchange rate valid at the time of writing the article).are requested from an EU warehouse, with free delivery.
Plus, the handlebar grips also stick out beyond the handlebar tube, which makes using the PVY Z20 Pro Evo a little more annoying than without it, but If you move everything to the left by 2 centimeters, everything will fall into place. As for quality, the Chinese are generally weak in screw connections, and I had to adjust this and that here too. The rear fender is a real assault on quality, It's a piece of plastic held in place with a screw, but the finish is really good, as are the welds, so I can only really relate to the interchangeable accessories. What's interesting is that they changed a few things compared to the PVY Z20 Pro:
- got a traditional spoke instead of the previous design screw
- the mudguard and rear basket holder have been changed (can hold 25 kg)
- the lights are different, there is not only a "cat's eye" at the back, but also an index finger
- It has a MicroNew shifter, not a Shimano Tourney.
- battery capacity has increased
- The old one had a support at the bottom of the frame and a handle on top to help with carrying, this was removed from the Evo
Overall, the previously tested Himo Z20 It looks like a bicycle frame, which I think is a step back, because carrying the PVY Z20 Pro was much easier. Not because of the weight, but because it was much easier to hold, but since it has a massive rear basket holder, it can be solved.
A big plus for the PVY Z20 Pro Evo is that the battery has been increased from 10,4 Ah to 14,5 Ah compared to the previous model,
which is a loose 40% plus. This is a maximum 42 V system with a capacity of 609 Wh, for which the manufacturer has set a completely unrealistic range of 120 kilometers.

I could ask the manufacturer if they are mathematicians and how they calculated this, because
60-80 kilometers is much more realistic than that,
de Of course, the amount of assistance doesn't really matter, so I think you can expect a pretty big variation as a user. Under me the bike was able to do about 70 km mainly using 4th assist, which I think it's completely fine. from a small-wheeled bike that is mainly used in the city. It takes 7-8 hours to charge, which the manufacturer refers to as “smart fast charging”, which is a ridiculous distortion. Which I was very happy about the battery can be removed from the frame, so I didn't have to carry the 22,5 kilo bike up to the apartment, because it's not that much fun if you live in a high-rise apartment building.
The controls are quite typical, the PVY Z20 Pro Evo doesn't feature any extras.
From left to right, there is an electric horn, an index, and a fairly simple display, which was also present on previous models. It shows the usual things – daily and total distance traveled, charge level, speed – but its brightness could be higher. You can find it on the right side. the levers of the seven-speed MicroNew transmission.

The PVY Z20 Pro Evo top speed 25 km/h, on paper, above 250 W motor power associated. But, you can unlock the limitation from the menu by pressing the plus and minus buttons for a long time, then entering the secret menu, you have to set P08 to the maximum value. In this case, the maximum, With 500 W motor power toll, 50 Nm Of course, with this performance up to a top speed of 32 km/h You can get there if you really push yourself, but this thing is not made for that with these tiny wheels. Of course, the assistance can be adjusted in 5 levels from the on-board computer, but everyone will put it on max anyway, in which case you can practically put the pedaling into parentheses, the bike feels so strong.
Unfortunately, in my case, several surreal errors made my life miserable: the key I was given was not the right one for the battery,
luckily I got it open, so I could take it out of the bike. The other thing is that someone screwed the screw holding the rubber cover of the charging port so tight that it got stuck in the frame, So while I was pulling out the battery, he scratched the side and peeled the paper off.
After 25 kilometers, the cover plate fell off the on-board computer, which is not a big problem, because it didn't break and can be glued back on in 2 minutes, or you can also rubberize it if you want, but still. The quality control sticker is usually stuck on such products for a reason, so PVY should pay much more attention to quality assurance.
This is a real shopper's paradise,
which is not incidental It can be folded in the middle of the frame with 2 movements, then fold the steering wheel, pull out the seat, fold in the pedals and you can go in the trunk. It just fits in the 350 liter trunk of my Seat Ibiza, which I wouldn't have a chance of doing with a 26" wheel bike, at most if I took out the front wheel and folded down the seats. Since I don't have a roof rack, I can't put it there either, so is this the only option or a smaller electric scooter, because even the bigger ones won't fit.
The PVY Z20 Pro Evo wheels Bowden disc brakes slow it down decently, and there is a non-adjustable telescopic fork at the front, but very few offer anything else in this entry-level category. It absorbs road imperfections quite well, but you have to be careful with this wheel size, because a larger pothole will hit you hard and increase your tendency to skid. What's lame, though, is the standard, This is usually placed next to the rear wheel, on the frame, not behind the pedal, as this can get your shoe heel caught in it.

And then comes the "sweet spot" that makes this bike worth buying: torque sensor.
Usually, cheap bikes are equipped with a pedal sensor, which works in such a way that when you pedal, the power suddenly comes, and then when you stop pedaling, the electronics take it away. This results in the electric motor jerking while riding, which feels like an unpleasant, clumsy operation. Not so with the torque sensor, which only gently helps as much as necessary, the power can be continuously dosed, it is much more pleasant to use than a pedal sensor solution. The problem with torque sensors is always that they are expensive, there are not many such bikes available for under 400-500 HUF. And this is where the PVY Z000 Pro Evo is great, it is cheap enough to have no competitors in this under 20 HUF category.
And what's it like while riding? I have to say it's good as long as you're riding on flat roads.
I felt a pleasant calmness while riding, it's easy to ride, I rode it all the way around the islands of Budapest, it completed the 50 km without any problems. The concrete was quite bad in places, especially around the Római coast, but the front suspension dampens the shock quite well, and the seat is comfortable. I won't say I could change it to the right, but it's not bad for such a basic machine. Heavier individuals should be careful with the seat, as it can easily turn if you don't tighten the screws firmly. When going uphill, if it's flat, it's hellishly difficult to ride, you simply can't shift up enough on the shifter, and besides The soft front line also works against you, so leave some electrons for the ups.

The light is pretty good, but this is exactly the kind of thing that could be put on the handlebars to make it more beefy, and in the case of the PVY Z20 Pro Evo, there's room for that.
Obviously You can't put an extra bottle cage on such a frame, or a basket in front, but that's the price of being foldable. What I missed was that it does not have a bottom support, because when folded, it cannot be propped up, but rests on the pedals. It's a great luck that these can be turned sideways, so it spreads out over a larger surface, not on its edge, which would certainly not be good for it.

PVY Z20 Pro Evo – Service Experiences
The PVY Z20 Pro Evo is not a common vehicle in Hungary, but a few machines have already been built on this frame design. On the one hand, the predecessor model, the PVY Z20 Pro is also similar to the previous Himo Z20 and the ADO or Fiido models can also be included here.
It is built from roughly the same components, almost everything is available, and not the kind that breaks down. The battery is what usually dies in these within 3-5 years, depending on the amount of charging.
In this case, we can usually speak of an economic total loss, since one battery about 300 EUR, or 120 HUF. Not many people will have this done, because after all these years the PVY Z000 Pro Evo will be worth about 150, as it says RollBase I found out from János, who did the zero revision on it.
There are no other problems with these, so if you charge them wisely and pay attention to the battery, they are not a problematic vehicle. And if the battery dies, you will still have a folding, gear-equipped "camping bike".
Summary
The PVY Z20 Pro Evo it sells itself because of the torque sensor. It does have a few annoying flaws, such as the single-bolt fastening of the rear fender, but these are relatively easy to fix. On the other hand The lack of quality control was glaring in places: The top cover of the on-board computer fell off, the key did not lock the battery, while an over-tightened screw scratched the side of the battery. It is also not good for mountain riding with an empty battery, because the soft front wheel makes the frame sway, and the few gears make it harder to ride than average.
I loved everything else, the torque sensor is good, the noname MicroNew transmission shifts smoothly – better than Shimano Tourney -, The Pro Evo is sufficiently, but not very strong. It's not too difficult. for lifting into the trunk, the battery is removable, so it's not a bad choice for those looking for something for commuting, but don't want to carry a full-size bike and don't want to have to climb hills along the way.
All that's missing is a good price, but with the dollar currently low, that makes the PVY Z20 Pro Evo a bargain. WHAT is a torque sensor?
A torque sensor is a sensor on bicycles, especially electric bikes, that measures the force, or torque, exerted on the pedals. This is used to determine how much assistance the electric motor should provide, thus improving the pedaling speed. It provides a much more natural and dynamic experience than simple cadence sensor solutions. The harder you push the pedal, the more motor assistance you get, as if an invisible hand is pushing you forward.
