A 2025 G2 Like its predecessor (and all other models from the manufacturer), it comes pretty much assembled out of the box. You only need to fit the handlebars and rear fender, but there's more to getting it up and running, which we cover in almost every electric vehicle test. For example, tightening the screws, adjusting the brakes, KGFB (if necessary) and the appropriate protective equipment application.

There's not much in the box, but it has everything you need. accessory you will find: some Allen keys, a correct instruction manual and a charger. As usual, there are no complaints about the materials used in the e-scooter, and the design is almost 100% identical to its predecessor. The same can be said about the 2025 model, which is KuKirin G4 "his little brother".

At first glance, there aren't many innovations to be discovered on the scooter, but it's not easy to notice them because its predecessor was launched in September 2024. test here and that wasn't exactly yesterday.

One of the most important innovations concerned the brakes, as they were replaced by 140-millimeter brake discs instead of 160.

Both the front suspension and the tread have been reinforced, the latter was also thickened. The taillight was installed and the step became wider, as it was before. Everything remains the same except for these: 800-watt motor, 48-volt, 15,6 Ah battery (although its predecessor had “only” 15 Ah), 55 kilometers of range on paper, maximum top speed of 45 km/h, 10-inch wheels, max. 20-degree inclines, 26 kilograms of weight and 120 kilograms of load capacity. Let's see what it's like to ride with the pleated version!

KuKirin G2 (2025) electric scooter test – Old design in a new set

Of all the innovations, the most striking and important is the disc brakes replacement, From 140 millimeters to 160 millimeters. At first you might wonder what the point of those 2 centimeters is, but there's more to it than you might think. Disc brakes work in such a way that the further the brake shoe is from the axle, the more force it can slow down, so even a smaller braking force results in more effective deceleration. A larger disc makes it easier to brake smoothly, It's not as sudden and "biting", although I didn't experience this problem with the previous model either.

Changing disc brakes to larger sizes is not a revolutionary step, it is more of a hydraulic brake would have been, but it is a conscious development that will not only make the user experience better, but also safer. This can be said about with confirmation of first suspension also in relation to what an e-scooter really requires, especially when used on rougher terrain or at higher speeds, the latter in this case 45 km/h. While I didn't experience this while testing the older G2, I received more than one customer complaint about harsh braking and potholes wearing out the fork, so this may be the main reason for this innovation. The robust treadle It's not just an aesthetic change, as it bends, resonates or rattles less, and the position of the back leg is more comfortable.

The built-in taillight, however, is almost no better than it was before.

It's there locally, along with the rear indicators, so it's not too noticeable when viewed from the car. The reason for the widened step is also for comfort and safety, and the battery is also a bit more protected against water and dirt.

You won't notice many of the innovations while driving, but it's certain that the 2025 KuKirin G2 has become even more durable and safer than its predecessor. What could have been improved, however, is the e-scooter's LCD display. The same type was used in KuKirin for G4 also, but I wasn't a fan of it even when testing it.

Even though it's huge, touching and informative, you can't see a damn thing about it in bright sunlight.

Fortunately, you can toggle the power button 3 speed settings: 25 km/h in ECO mode, 35 km/h in standard mode, and in sport mode, it's really accurate Its top speed is 45 km/h, provided you lift the scooter's 25 km/h speed limit.

Among other things the 7 LED light sources still given, and the driving experience is just as good as the previous model. It accelerates super fast and even though the wheels are only 10 inches, they handle off-road terrain quite well. Under the cover of the scooter is a 48 volt, 15,6 Ah capacity battery It has a battery that is slightly larger than the previous G2, which had “only” a 15 Ah battery. Its charging time takes 8-9 hours and according to the manufacturer, it can last up to 55 kilometers can be done with it on a single charge, but this depends largely on the weight of the passenger, weather factors and road conditions as well. Using a mix of speed modes, Riding mostly flat, but sometimes on forest ground, it ended up being 42 kilometers, but if you dictate a lighter pace than that, you can even reach 50 kilometers.

KuKirin G2 (2025) electric scooter test – Service experiences

This part could almost be Ctrl+C and Ctrl+V from the older KuKirin G2 test, because it does not have any specific diseases that would be difficult or impossible to cure. Instead, it has more than one positive characteristic that is partly development is due to:

  • the larger disc brake is worth its weight in gold: you can stop better with it and it wears out more slowly, and the latter is very important because the brake pads can wear out quite quickly, especially if you use the scooter hard and the new G2 (and the old one too) can
  • front suspension gives extra stability
  • the back, built-in lamp It is no more difficult to service than its predecessor, as even though it is built-in, it can still be unscrewed and replaced.
  • there are plenty of parts for this e-scooter and it will still be there, you don't have to worry that it will be gone in 1-2 years, like in the case of many stick scooters

Summary

Launched this year G2 It's a more solid build than the G4, but it's just as fun to ride as the old G2. It's for those who have outgrown their crappy scooters but don't want to spend a fortune on a fancy, premium-looking vehicle. This model is a hybrid of city racers and commuter all-rounders: with more massive brakes, stronger suspension and with the other innovations, it finally not only looks good, but also withstands more abuse than before. It is more stable, safer, and therefore suitable for everyday use - of course, with protective equipment and in the right conditions.
