Baseus manufactures real electronic Swiss Army knives, and now it favors car owners with an FM transmitter that has 4 inputs, any of which can be used to transmit sound. It can be powered by a solar panel or Type-C port, it has an LCD display that shows the radio frequency, and it can even be used as a speakerphone. For the many-in-one key a BGHU1281  with a coupon, they ask for HUF 9, this price already includes the cost of delivery, which cannot be called a large amount at all when it comes to cars.

It is important, however, that in addition to the description, only one Type-C cable is included in the package,

so if for example if you want to use the jack, you have to purchase it separately. The back side a magnetic panel into which a solar cell is placed, and the gadget can also charge itself from here. In order to prevent the device from becoming a victim of "running ownership transfer" in the event of a car break-in, you can also click this off. What surprised me more was the quality of the Baseus FM transmitter. Aluminum covers 80% of the surfaces, and the buttons can be turned with little resistance, the pressure is pleasant, so it's exactly what suggests that the engineers put material into it.

Looking directly at it, there is a mini display on the right side that shows the frequency on which the sound is emitted, you have to look for this on the car radio. The treatment is relatively simple, you can use the arrows to scroll through the numbers, the volume can be adjusted with the scroll wheel, and the latter is also a push button, which switches to frequency adjustment when pressed long and hard, while a long press of the right arrow turns the gadget on and off. Interestingly here, low battery is not the favorite function of FM transmitters, it indicates the low voltage of the car's battery, but the draining of its own battery. The BS-02 can also turn on automatically, it has a motion sensor that reacts to the opening and closing of the door, as well as starting the engine, and switches the device from sleep mode to active mode.

Its placement is very simple, on the back panel, on the edge of the solar panels, there are two sticky surfaces, which you have to press on the windshield,

so the device can charge as long as the sun is shining. Obviously, this is not a typical weather condition at the beginning of December, but in principle, it fully charges in 75 minutes. Not that it matters, because it has a Type-C input, so I don't feel this is such an important feature, but at least there isn't a cord hanging unnecessarily in the field of view. This is also important because it has a speakerphone - i.e. a speech microphone -, so it is worth setting it to a height where there is some chance of achieving meaningful sound quality. And if you don't use the thing, you simply have to lift it from the magnetic solution and you can put it in the glove compartment.

Baseus BS-02 Magnetic FM Transmitter - Front with lock key

I turned on the ignition, paired my mobile via the BT 5.0 connection, then pushed the music on to hear what the quality was like. I have to say that it is quite good, but the important thing is that the transmission does not usually affect the musical experience, but how some radio transmitters interfere with the frequency you set the gadget to.

In order to improve the quality, I invented to look at the frequency allocation of Budapest radio stations, and I searched for the frequency that is the farthest from the channels. Originally between 103,3 and 104,7 MHz 104 MHz I wanted to use it, but it can only be set up to 99 MHz, so I was looking for an intermediate frequency that interfered little in Budapest. Let's say I didn't visit Tolna and Baranya to find out, nothing will interfere with it in any of the country's counties. So you better expect it to work, this is usually the worst part of such devices.

Apart from the external conditions, the quality of the musical sounds is fine.

Of course, the sound system of a Seat Ibiza is not famous for providing its owner with an unearthly experience, so the overall effect will never be real. By increasing the volume, wind, engine and rolling noise can be compensated to some extent, but this thing can no longer be said for the speakerphone. Very I tried to place the stuff as close to my mouth as possible, so I cupped it above my head, on the windshield. Even in this state the sound quality is terrible, although we are used to testing such things relatively thoroughly.

Usually, the test method is to make a call when the car is stationary, then at city speeds, and finally on the highway. Married, we didn't even get to the second phase, because the quality is so bad even in a stationary position that it's amazing. On a scale of ten, he doesn't deserve more than a two, his voice sounds like Darth Vader's voice modulator has gone bad. Its quality is practically incomprehensible, which is a big problem with such a device.

It's no coincidence that his voice is very quiet, so you have to turn up the volume of the radio and Baseus very much, but if you switch back to plain radio, it screams. The status changes say in Chinese, that is, there would still be work to do before I could say that this is a good product. A funny thing is that if I put my phone on speakerphone, but put the transmission in reverse, it turns down the radio, which is also the volume of the conversation. Although this is not Baseus's fault, it is a Seat quirk, but it is worth mentioning. My other problem is that if the environment shines or reflects even a little, then the display is barely readable, and if you focus on that, it can certainly distract you from driving.

Summary

An interesting item is the Baseus BS-02 FM transmitter. It knows a lot of things that its competitors don't, but it won't change the world either. Unfortunately the quality of the conversation is bad, as with almost all such devices. Its sound quality is not that bad and it has a lot of inputs, but this does not save the overall effect either, with such poor conversation quality, I would not buy this device, but it can finally be used for listening to music, but unfortunately in this case the sound of the telephones also comes out. However, this problem can be solved with the help of a flash drive, and then you don't even have to use the BT connection. So overall I say that not completely meaningless, but I don't think it's worth the amount asked for it.
